In the coastal town of Sanremo, one can put together a lovely run combining the beautifully landscaped Villa Ormond park, marina, and waterfront path.
Start at the Villa Ormond park, and enjoy the paths around the Japanese Gardens and the Giardini Nobel. Then run around the marina and the waterfront Via Enrico Gavagnin, including a jaunt out the pier to the Faro del Porto di Sanremo lighthouse. Continue south along the palm-lined waterfront, on a combination of seaside road/promenade (Lungomare) and Pista Ciclabile del Parco Costiero della Riviera dei Fiori cycle path. There are water views a good part of the way. The route ends just south of the Boca Beach Sanremo, at the fields/athletic complex where there’s a good running track.
Longer Run: It’s possible to do a longer coastal run for many km north of Sanremo, as far as Imperia. It’s on a combination waterfront path, sidewalk along the SS1, and some sections of cycle path.
