This is a guide to the best places to run in several of the larger suburbs off the island of Montreal. There are some extensive parks and paths along the various rivers that empty into the Saint Lawrence, such as the Prairie River, Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, and the Richelieu River. We’ve included routes in Longueuil, Laval, Terrebonne, and Chambly.
Great running options in Longueuil, on Montreal's south shore, include a paved 7 km path along the St. Lawrence River, 30 km of trails connecting five islands in les-de-Boucherville National Park, and nice trails in Michel-Chartrand Park.
