Martinique

South Coast Trail & Beaches (Sainte-Anne)

South Coast: This coastal adventure is one of the best in Martinique, as long as runners don’t mind doing a little off-roading! A roughly 6 km (one-way) path stretches along the coast from the Maya Beach Club to Grande Terre. Most of the path is right alongside the beach. At times it delves into jungly singletrack, but the route is mostly over packed dirt roads, with occasional sandy surface. With few cars to worry about, runners can explore beach after beach on the scenic southern point of Martinique. Some of the beaches along this route are also very runnable.

For those who don’t want to do the full 12 km out and back, here are some segment distances (one-way from Maya Beach Club):

Anse Meunier: 2 km
Petite Anse de Salines: 3.2 km
Grande Anse de Salines: 4 km
Grande Terre: 6 km

Essentials
  • Up to 12 km (7.4 miles) out and back
  • 22 meters
  • Maya Beach Club
  • Habitacion Caritan
