Here’s an opportunity to combine a nice beach run with an upscale residential neighborhood of Mombasa. The white sand Nyali Beach, part of the Mombasa Marine Reserve, is good for running, with some nice firm sand near the water. The publicly accessible part of the beach extends for ~2.5 km, from the Yacht Beach Resort at Greenwood Ln. north to the Sun Africa Beach Resort. There are facilities at the beach. Just north of Nylai Beach, one can continue onto Mombasa Beach for another ~ 2 km.
It’s also possible to run in the residential area just inland from the beach. It’s one of the more upscale residential neighborhoods of Mombasa, with tree shaded streets and not too much traffic. Greenwood Drive is one of the prettier streets for running, and goes for ~2 km. One can run some of the streets off Greenwood Dr. as well: Corral Dr. is pretty, and Sea View Dr. has a sidewalk. Access: from the beach, access Greenwood Drive from Greenwood Ln. at the southern end.
NOTE: Except for Sea View Dr., there aren’t sidewalks.
