Montreal (Island)

North Montreal: Parc de la Visitation

Google Street View

In the area known as Montreal North, there’s lovely running in Parc de la Visitation (Visitation Park). The park is located on the Prairies River, and features 8.8 km of pedestrian paths and 3.6 km of cycle paths — combination of paved & gravel. It’s a scenic spot, with some paths directly along the river and others wooded and a bit more interior. The park features a historic mill, a museum, cafe, and restrooms.

This trail map will help you plan your route. There are two sections — the nature park on the mainland, and paths on Visitation Island, accessible via a small pedestrian bridge. Most of the trails are wide with easy footing, but there are also some narrow trails on the island part of the park.

Add-Ons: Pleasant residential streets just south of the park. About 1 km away, additional paths in Parc des Horndelles and nearby Parc Champdoré/Frédéric-Back Park, location of a weekly Parkrun.
