For another waterfront run with wide open water views, we love the Parque de Esculturas Francisco Brennand. This narrow, harborside park sits on a reef and is basically a long concrete path/pier that extends for 5.3 km to a lighthouse. Along the way, there are large, outdoor sculptures by the famous Brazilian sculptor Francisco Brennand.

The ‘mainland’ start is in the area of the Praia de Brasília Teimosa. Run for 1 km along Ave. Brasilia Formosa, and then join the Parque de Esculturas path. Run as far as the Farol da Lua Cheia (lighthouse). There are wide open water views the whole way. Note: this is open & exposed — no shade, water or restrooms!

Add-On: The Boa Viagem Beach Promenade is just south of the Parque.
