If in the Rijeka area, a totally worth-it destination run is the waterfront run in Opatija, using the Obalno šetalište Franje Josipa I coastal path. This dedicated concrete path, runs for 7 km from Slatina Beach south to Louvran. There are wonderful views of Kvarner Bay and the open Adriatic most of the way.
