Historic Stillwater is a worth-it spot for a destination run! Enjoy the 4.7-mile St. Croix Loop Trail, featuring two historic bridges, the 5.8-mile Brown's Creek State Trail, Millbrook Park, and pretty, historic streets in downtown Stillwater.
Paved multi-use path along the east bank of the Sacramento River. It's 5 miles from Discovery Park south to the Pocket neighborhood along the levee, with some nice water views. There's also a trail on the west bank of the river. Good add options.
Davis is a suburb of Sacramento, home to the large UC Davis and known for its bikeability. There's lovely running in Davis, highlighted by the UC Davis Arboretum, nice paths around campus, a running track, and the East Davis Greenways.

Extensive trail running opportunities at Burnaby Mountain, with something for all abilities. It surrounds the SFU campus, which has a path around the perimeter road and a running track.
