The lakeshore parks in Lachine offer some of the most scenic running in Montreal. At the west end of the Lachine Canal path, we’ve put together a scenic route combining two waterfront parks that jut out to the St. Lawrence River: Parc René-Lévesque & Promenade Père-Marquette, with an option to extend further along the lakeshore on cycle paths as far as Millennium Park. Note this area is popular for nordic skiing in winter. Bonus: Paths are lit

Start at the parking lot at Parc René-Lévesque near the Lachine Museum. This is an area referred to as Vieux Lachine. Enjoy the 3.7 km loop around Parc René-Lévesque, on paved, park-like waterfront paths with great views of the St. Lawrence. There’s a Arboreteum in the middle of the park. Then, do an 0.5 km loop around Lachine Lock into Parc Monk. Continue west on the scenic Promenade Père-Marquette, a scenic waterfront path. You’ll pass The Fur Trade at Lachine National Historic Site. Do this 2.4 km loop and return to the start.

Longer Run: From the west end of Prom. Père-Marquette, a paved multi-use path continues for 4.2 km further west along the water, paralleling Boul. Saint-Joseph. The path connects several waterfront parks: Parc de la Marina; the historic Lachine Range Rear Lighthouse, Parc du Fort-Rolland, Stoney Point Park, Parc Summerlea, & Millennium Park.
Add-Ons: Connect to the Lachine Canal Path, headed east toward downtown Montreal.
