The longest off-road trail in the Halifax metro area. Popular paved bike trail heads west from the city, passing by five lakes, to Lakeside. Connects to the BLT Trail and then the Margarets Bay Trail.

A great run in Dartmouth, across from Halifax Harbour. Do a ~1 mile jaunt around Dartmouth Common, then along a the waterfront trail between Alderney Ferry terminal and Woodside Park. Option: run from Halifax and take the ferry back!
Dartmouth's version of Point Pleasant Park. About 6 km northeast of downtown Dartmouth. Extensive series of trails. Also connects with a greenway system heading south of the park, and the Trans Canada Trail.
A green oasis in the heart of Athens. 2-3 miles of trails, passing several historic sites. Add-on by running the dirt track around the "Old Olympic Stadium".
One of the largest public parks in Athens, offering 2-3 miles of routes. Ekklisia Agios Charalampos, or Greek Orthodox Church is at the eastern end of the park. Paths are concrete or stone, with some dirt options.

This is a forest about 15 km northeast of Athens. There are 950 acres of trails, many of them wooded/shaded. One of the best green spaces within some proximity to Athens, and great for running.
