College Hill Area & Cookson Field

Creative Commons: Taliskerbay

One can stitch together a decent run in the College Hill section of Worcester, combining the campus of the College of the Holy Cross and the paths of Cookson Field. Start on the college campus and enjoy some of the nice pedestrian paths. Take the path that goes to the Athletic Complex and enjoy a couple of loops around the running track. Then take Whipple St. east toward Middle River Park, run through the park’s paths, and then use Kimball Rd. to access Cookson Field, which has 2 miles of dirt/gravel trails and a nice run to the summit, with good views of the city.

Add-Ons: The residential streets around in the area sandwiched between I-290 and the Worcester-Providence Turnpike are pleasant for running.
