One of the best running options in Hannover is just outside the grounds of the Leibniz Universität Hannover in the north of the city. The sizable Georgengarten landscape park has a number of paths, but one of the highlights is the tree-lined Herrenhäuser Allee. It reaches 2.5 km from Bremer Damm to the Hannover Schaumbergstraub U Stop. After running down the Allee, runners can tour around the Herrenhauser Garten, the Leibniz Tempel, and the ponds before returning to the start of the 7 km loop. For more distance, runners can add on a quick 1.5 km jaunt around Welfengarten, just to the east of Herrenhauser Allee, across Neinburger Str.

Add-Ons: Botanical Garden (Berggarten), just north. Or, the Leine River/Canal paths just south.
