Take yourself for a run at the ‘end of the world’! For those visiting Ushuaia to do some hiking in Tierra del Fuego National Park or before hopping cruise to Antarctica, the best place to run is along the waterfront. There are great views of the bay, Beagle Channel, and the Martial mountains.
A good place to start is at the Ushuaia sign. Take an 0.5 km dip into the Paseo de los Antiguos Pobladores park, and then do the 2 km loop around the Bahía Encerrada lake. Then, head east along the the main waterfront road, which features a dedicated promenade for a small part, and then a decent sidewalk. There are great views! We go for 2.3 km, where the road turns inland and the area gets a bit more industrial.
Add-Ons: Run on some of the main streets of downtown Ushuaia, just above the waterfront. There’s the Paseo del Centenario park, and a short trail called Leopoldo Lugones just off Av. San Martin.
NOTE: A section of the path on the side closest to the cruise ports might be closed for renovation, as of 2025.
