The run along the Emajõe River and around the Anne Canal is among the signature runs in Tartu. One can combine these for a loop of nearly 8 km. There are lovely views of the water, central Tartu, and its scenic bridges.

A good place to start is at the Turusild pedestrian Bridge. Begin with the ~2 km loop around the Anne Canal (channel) on the east bank of the river. There are both paved and unpaved paths, and nce water views, and some additional trails in Ülejõe Park. Then, run north along the path on the east side of the Emajõe River for 3 km, to its end at Emajõe Beach (rand=beach). Double back for 1 km, crossing the Kroonuaia Bridge to the west bank of the river. Head south, passing the Botanical Gardens and numerous stautes and monuments to the start point at the Turusild Bridge.
Add-Ons: Paths in Ülejõe Park, and some additional interior paths along the river. Can also combine with our ‘Runseeing’ Tour and route in Tähtvere park for a longer run.
