The Vooremäe Health Trails make for a fun destination trail run. This sports complex, located 20 km south of the center of Tartu, features several km of rolling hill trails of various surface and level of difficulty. In summer, the area is popular for walking, hiking, trail running, & mountain biking. In winter, it’s popular for snow sports. The trails are mainly wooded. There are several trail loop options, including 3k, 4k, & 8k tracks. This site has good information on the trails, and a map of the loop options.

Tähtvere Park is a popular place for running in Tartu. The large park features numerous sports facilities, lovely paths, an 850m woodchip running track and a 1.2 km sprint trail. Overall, one can run 6-7 km here, with good add-on options.
Lähte Health Track is located 15 km north of Tartu and features several km of trails. The longest trail is 5 km. There are rolling hills, and the landscape is a combination of open & wooded. Popular for trail running in summer & nordic skiing in winter.
Wetlands area with hiking trails located 12 km west of Tartu. The area is popular for bird watching, with some 200 species. There's a 3.5 km 'Bird Trail' along the Ilmatsalu River bank. We've also mapped a 7 km loop.
