There are several km of trail along the Petitcodiac River, allowing for some scenic off-road running in the heart of Moncton. They’re also part of the Trans Canada Trail. The more popular section is the ~5 km that runs along the west side of the river between Bore Park and Findlay Blvd. The path is a combination of paved and gravel, and the landscape is a mix of open and wooded. You’ll pass a Running Room store, Treitz Haus (Moncton’s oldest building), Riverfront Park, commemorative monuments, and sports fields. Note the trail is somewhat inland from the river, so most sections don’t have water views. Bonus: a good part of the trail is maintained in winter.

For even more, there are 10+ km of mainly gravel trail on the east side of the river, between Dieppe and Upper Dover. Again, the trail is somewhat inland from the river, so there aren’t a lot of water views. The south end of the trail ends at Dover Rd.
Add-On: At around the mid-point of the trail, there are additional trails for running in Rotary St-Anselme Park.

Bore Park/Riverfront Park is a good central start point. Or other preferred start point!
Located in Dieppe, this is a nice park for running, with several km of circle-shaped trails forming nice loops! Mainly wooded. Outer trails are easier and are 2-3 km loops. Some hilly spots on the inner trails. Also a popular winter recreation spot.
Large urban park that's popular for running. 5-6 km of maintained walking trails, combination of open & wooded terrain. The park is also a center for other seasonal recreational activities. Add on with Northwest Trail.
Good long-distance running option on this paved multi-use trial, passing through Moncton's residential communities. Up to 9 km one-way, through a combination of open & wooded landscape. Can combine with Centennial Park.
Popular park located in the northern part of Moncton, is a nice spot for easy trail running. There are 6-7 km of easy trails through woods and around a wetland & lagoon. We recommend a ~5 loop combining the Floodplain & Wetland trails. Nice in winter!
