For some pleasant, fairly easy trail running, Rockburn Branch Park is a good choice. The park is located in Elkridge, which is 10 miles east of Columbia, towards Baltimore. The park features 9 miles of natural surface trails. The landscape is a mix of wooded and some open fields.
For running, choose from among three color-coded loop trails, or mix & match them for longer runs! This trail map is a helpful resource. There are also information kiosks located throughout the park.
Add-On: Additional trails at Belmont Manor, just east of Landing Rd. Part of larger Patapsko Valley State Park system, which features acres 70 miles of maintained trails, with something for all trail running abilities. .
