In central Vancouver, Queen Elizabeth Park is a good spot for a short, hilly run. The 130-acre park features gardens, Blodel Conservatory, outdoor sculptures, and sports fields. It’s also hilly, and features fine views of the city from the hilltop. A loop of the park’s mainly paved paths is ~2 km. You can also run on the main park road, as it has a decent sidewalk. Note: hilly!

It’s tempting from a map to combine this with the VanDusen Botanical Garden, but running is generally restricted. But you can run for 1 km west on W 37th St. and enjoy a nice cool-down walk through this 55-acre garden, with its 7,500 plant species and varieties from around the world.
