Bernt Rostad

The signature running option in Aberdeen is the Esplanade, a 3.7 km asphalt pathway stretching from the North Pier at the mouth of the River Dee to the Donmouth Local Nature Reserve. This peaceful paved route has waterfront views along the entirety, with a variety of entertainment venues and amusement parks although it can be quite brisk and windy. The path makes a great 7.3 km out and back from the Footdee Play Area. For those who want a bit of friendly competition, there is a free Parkrun 5k at the Esplanade every Saturday at 9:30 am.

Add-On Option: Runners can continue north on the dirt paths of the Donmouth Local Nature Reserve or along the Esplanade Road to the Don Bridge and the River Don Paths.
