Neighborhood Running in the Atlantic City Area

For those who are looking for some running alternatives to the boardwalk/beach area in Atlantic City, there’s some pleasant neighborhood running on residential side streets. The area in the heart of Atlantic City itself isn’t particularly attractive. But south of Highway 40, toward Ventnor City, Margate, and Longport, there are pleasant streets for running, mainly running perpendicular to the beach.

Use Atlantic Ave. as an anchor street, and create your own route on the quiet residential side streets. There are decent sidewalks and not a lot of traffic. There’s a mix of architectural styles. Margate City is the nicest area, with more tree-lined streets and fancier homes.
