Denpasar Area

Denpasar is the capital of Bali and a centre of commerce, education, industry, and tourism. It’s mainly used as a gateway to other spots in Bali. Overall, this is a busy and crowded city, and not in itself great for running. Our suggestions for the best places to run in Denpasar:

Lapangan Renon. This is the best place for running in Denpasar. The park surrounds the iconic Bajra Sandhi Monument. There are fields and pedestrian paths. One can do a couple of km within the park (laps around the monument!), or a ~2 km loop of the perimeter roads, extending to just north of the Governor’s office. Sundays are car-free in the area, and popular with runners.

Lapangan Puputan Badung. A small but pleasant park adjacent to the Bali Museum. There’s a jogging track, fitness area, and a large field. It’s just short of 1 km around the perimeter.
