Thunder Bay, ON

Boulevard Lake Loop

Google Street View: Sean Bickford

The loop around Boulevard Lake is the most popular place to run in Thunder Bay. There’s a paved multi-use trail around the lake that makes for a terrific 5 km loop. It’s a combination of woodland and some sections with lake views. Bonus: lit at night!

A good place to start is at the parking lot at the southwest end of the lake. The best lake views are on the eastern side of the lake, while the path on the western side is to the west of the Lyon Blvd.

Add-Ons: There are additional unnamed, wooded trails just to the west of the lake, between the lake path and Toledo St./Commee St. There’s also a trail northwest of Arundel St. that leads to The Bluffs (a park with a nice view) and then for ~1.5 km to Centennial Park & Trowbridge Falls trails.

Essentials
  • 5.3 km (3.3 miles) loop
  • 38m (124 feet)
  • Parking lot
  • Parking lot at southwest end of lake
