Brasília’s planned residential districts, Asa Norte and Asa Sul, offer some decent opportunities for running. These leafy neighborhoods are adjacent to the Federal District, with long north-south thoroughfares lined with modernist apartment buildings and curvier east-west streets that calm traffic.
Parque Olhos D’Água. Patricia dos Santos
The Asa Norte neighborhood is north of the Jardim Blue Marx/Estação Central metro and is also known as the ‘North Wing’, as it curves like an airplane. We’ve mapped a 10k route that can be used as a guideline. Start with ~2 km on the pedestrian paths of the University of Brasília. Then run north on the tree-shaded paths alongside Via L1 Norte and Via L2 Norte to Parque Olhos D’Água, where a loop of the walking paths is ~1.5 km. This incudes an optional loop of the trendy, green area around the Paróquia Nossa Senhora da Esperança church.
Longer Run/Add-Ons: Can be combined with part of our adjacent Monumental Axis route.
