Cedar Rapids, IA

Cedar Rapids Downtown & Historic Districts

Google Street View

Running on the downtown streets of Cedar Rapids isn’t great. The roads are very wide and aren’t very scenic. Instead, we recommend running in the Wellington Heights area, which is ~1 mile east of downtown. It’s a pleasant residential area for running, including a couple of designated historic districts. We recommend anchoring around Redmont Park. 2nd. Ave, 3rd Ave., Grand Ave., and Blake Blvd. are nice east-west streets. Also, decent running on the north-south streets from 15th St.-19th St.

Essentials
  • Can do several miles along the streets we recommend
  • Wellington Heights area. Redmond Park a good anchor point
  • ~1 mile east of downtown. Can use 2nd Ave. or 3rd Ave.
