Bridgeport is an oft-overlooked Connecticut seaport, but it has a few great running routes. The Pequonnock River Trail is a wide dirt rail trail that begins on Tait Road in the northern outskirts of Bridgeport and continues through north for 13.6 miles through Trumbull and Monroe along the Pequonnock River Valley. The section through Parlor Rock State Park is paved (and quite beautiful). Shortly after, in William E. Wolfe Park, it meets the Housatonic Valley Rail Trail.
Note: Runners can add more mileage by starting from Seaport Park in Bridgeport. Run through downtown streets, Beardsley Park, and Unity Park to reach the start of the continuous path near Tait Road.
Essentials
- Up to 13.6 miles (22 km) one-way
- Bridgeport end: Tait Rd.
