East Dallas: Santa Fe Trail

Author photo

The Santa Fe Trail is a fairly urban trail in the eastern part of Dallas, connecting Main St./Deep Ellum with White Rock Lake. The 4.4-mile paved trail follows an old rail path, past shotgun houses, and through some parks. The southern end runs right off the end of Main St. in Deep Ellum. The northern end of the trail connects with the trail around White Rock Lake. The trail is well way-marked, with numerous access points and options to vary the distance. For additional information about the trail, click here.

A popular spot just off the Santa Fe trail and near White Rock Lake and the Arboretum is The White Rock Alehouse. Or, finish off your run with a snack or a drink along Main St. in Deep Ellum.
