Use Centennial Bridge or Arsenal Bridge to cross the river. Note: Arsenal Bridge is an 1,854-foot-long structure capable of swinging a full 360 degrees to accommodate traffic on the Mississippi River. Built in 1896, it is the fourth and final iteration of the first Mississippi River crossing ever completed. The bridge comprises two levels: an upper deck with two railway lines and a lower deck for automobiles, walkers and bicyclists.

Rock Island Side: From downtown Rock Island, run ~1 mile south along 20th St., through the Broadway Historic District, to the Highland Park Historic District. Enjoy some of the nice streets in this area between Hauberg Estate Park and Longview Park. You can also do a 1/2 mile loop in Longview Park. There’s a running track at Almquist Field, 0.8 miles south of Longview Park (use 17th St.).
