Quai des Carrières Blanches

Google Street View

For a nice off-road run in Dijon, a path runs along a canal heading just west of town. The road is called the Quai des Carrières Blanches. On the north side of the canal, paralleling the Quai, is the paved/gravel Chemin de contre-halage du canal path. Starting at Esplanade Amédée Bargy, the gravel path heads west for nearly 5 km, ending at the D905.

There are good side run opportunities: At 1 km, take a jaunt over to the Ruisseau de la Fontaine d’Ouche Garden, or combine with the Lake Kir loop. Distances, headed west:

1 km: d’Ouche Garden
1.7 km: Lac Kir
4 km: A38
4.9 km: D905

Essentials
  • 5 km (3 miles) one-way
  • 56m (184 feet) one-way, headed west
  • Numerous access points. East end is Esplanade Amédée Bargy, west end is the D905. Also access from Lac Kir
