You Yang’s Regional Park

You Yang’s Regional Park is a popular spot located between Geelong and Melbourne. Known for being one of the top mountain biking locations in Australia, there is still plenty to keep runners happy at this park located a 45 minute drive from Geelong. And the park’s distinctive granite peaks are hard to miss.

Click here for a map of all the walking/running trails along with further information. For an easier run, we recommend the Branding Yard Trail (5 km out and back). More challenging trails include the 4 km (2.4 miles) East-West walk, starting at the Turntable carpark, for amazing views as you circumnavigate Flinders Peak, the highest peak in the You Yang’s; and Flinders Peak track, which includes 450 stairs!.  At times the trails will get rocky, and you may need to do some rock scrambling. Note also the trails can become exposed at times, which is great for viewing the scenery, but can become hot during summer due to a lack of shade.

The Turntable carpark and the start to our preferred loop, can be found by following the one-way Turntable Drive on entry to the park off Branch road.

The park is open every day from 7.00am to 5.00pm outside of daylight savings and 7.00am to 6.00pm during daylight savings.  Toilet and picnic facilities can be found throughout the park.
