The Guyana Botanical Gardens make are a good spot for a short standalone run or in combination with our other routes in Georgetown. The Gardens, located off Vlissengen Rd., date back to 1877. There are numerous tropical plantings, two ‘kissing bridges’, the Place of the Seven Ponds, and a small zoo. The National Gallery of Art is at the western end. Note: free admission, and hours are 6am-6pm.

The Gardens are more long than wide. The best places for a run are on the main ~1 km east-west road that passes through the center of the Gardens, or on a pedestrian path alongside. For a longer option, combine with our downtown tour, which includes Guyana National Park (1.5 km toward the coast).
