There’s more nice waterfront running in along the Ma On Shan Promenade. It’s a dedicated waterfront path with a blue jogging lane that runs along the east side of Tolo Harbor for 4 km. There are great views of the water, Ma on Shan’s twin peaks, and the numerous high-rise buildings. Ma on Shan is a new town along the eastern coast of Tolo Harbour in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Run this standalone, or combine with other nearby waterfront routes. Bonus: Lit at night!
The north end is at Tai Chi Park, just north of Tate’s Cairn Hwy. Run along the Promenade as far as Wu Kai Sha Beach (a pebble beach, not runnable). Enjoy the views of the water, the peaks of Pat Sin Leng mountains, and the budding high-rises. There are several optional add-ons along way:
- Running track at Ma on Shan Sports Ground (use path @km 1.6, Vista Paradiso Block 1)
- Paths through On Yen Street Garden (@km 2.2, ~1 km each way)
- Ma On Shan Park. @km 2.6. About 2-3 km of paths here, outdoor fitness trails, other facilities.
Add-Ons: For longer or combo routes, you can combine with our Sha Tin waterfront route, using the pedestrian bridge at Tai Chi Park. You can also add the Pak Shek Kok Promenade on the western side of the harbour, which runs for 8 km from Science Park to the Tai Po Waterfront Viewpoint (use the Sha Tin Twin Pedestrian Bridge to cross to the west bank).
