Poipu Area Options

The Poipu area is a popular destination for its rocky coastal parks and golf courses around rolling hills. There are lots of hotels in this area. Good running options in Poipu include:

Coastal run Poipu Beach to Spouting Horn Park.  Near the hotels in Poipu,  start at Poipu Beach where you can run a short stretch along the sand. On the western end of the beach, you’ll reach a path which wraps around the front of the Sheraton. This will spit you out on Poipu Beach Road, which bends back up towards the Waikomo Stream. There is a sidewalk for most of the way, but when it ends there is a decent shoulder. At the junction, take a hard left onto Lawai Road and follow the sidewalk all the way out to rocky Spouting Horn Park. Go early in the morning to beat the heat and the traffic.

Area Roads. Many of the roads around the golf courses north of Poipu Rd. and Lawai Rd. are good for running. Rolling hills, open views, and decent sidewalks or paths. Great for a DIY route. 

• Poipu Rd. east of the Hyatt on the north side of the golf course, is a dirt road along  pleasant farmland for 2.5 miles. Fairly flat. MAP
  
• Dirt road that runs northwest from Lawai Road, along the Lawai Stream on the outside of the Kukui’ula Golf Course.
