Tahoe East Shore Trail & Incline Village ‘Joggers Trail’

Courtesy: Tahoe Fund

There’s are some excellent running options on Lake Tahoe’s north shore, anchored by Incline Village. The recently completed East Shore Trail is one of the most spectacular runs in the Lake Tahoe area. Part of a grand plan for a multi-use trail around the entire lake, this section runs for 3 miles between Incline Village and Sand Harbor, paralleling Tahoe Blvd (Highway 28). There are some wonderful lake views, interpretive panels, and six bridges, including one that’s 810 feet long! The north part of the trail is hilly, and the south part is fairly flat.

Incline Village ‘Joggers Trail’. As a standalone run or in combination with the East Shore Trail, this 3-mile bike path runs along Lakeshore Blvd. in Incline Village, between Crystal Springs Rd. and the intersection with Rt. 28 near Tramway Rd. It’s a bit inland from the lake, so along most of the path, you’ll see homes and trees.

Essentials
  • East Shore Trail is 3 miles one-way. 'Joggers Trail' is 3 miles one-way
  • East Shore Trail is hilly at the north end and flat at the south end. Joggers Trail is 105 feet one-way, north to south
  • Incline Village or other spot along path (see map)
  • See trail map for access points & parking areas

Update from 2024 – this path is excellent! We parked in the pay parking at Sand Harbor on the southern end and ran to the north end and back. The north part of the trail is hilly, as it climbs up/down a bit, while the southern half is flat. Views are spectacular.
