Lansing Trail Running Options

There are numerous trail running options in Lansing. Here are some favorites, located not too far from town.

Fenner Nature Center. Nice spot for trail running in this 134-acre area, at N Aurelius Rd. & E Mt. Hope Rd. There are 4 miles of trails through woods, with some small ponds & overlooks. For a longer run, pick up the Lansing River Trail off N Aurelius Rd. TRAIL MAP

Lake Lansing Park North. Located in Haslett, this park features 10 miles of trails popular for hiking and trail running. Nice variety, with evergreen forests, swamp, marsh, deciduous forest and fields. Popular for XC skiing in winter. There’s a marked 2.4 mile interpretive trail. TRAIL MAP

Meridian Riverfront Park. Located in Meridian Township, 10 miles southeast of Lansing.  This 204-acre area features ~5 miles of natural trails on the south side of the Red Cedar River, combining three parks: Legg Park, Harris Nature Center, and Eastgate Park. Mainly wooded. TRAIL MAP

Padgett Park Natural Area. In Dewitt. 70-acre area with a few miles of wood chip trails. There’s a kiosk with map in the park and there are restrooms.
