Moncton is the largest city in New Brunswick. Situated on the Petitcodiac River, it’s at the geographic center of the Maritime Provinces. For a relatively small city, there’s some nice running in options, with numerous off-road trails and several sizeable parks.
Among the best places to run in Moncton are the 15 km of trails along the Petitcodiac River, especially around Riverfront Park. Rotary St-Anselme Park is a nice spit for some easy trail running, accessible from the east side river trail. Centennial Park is Moncton’s signature park, and features 5-6 km of trails across a varied landscape. We also love running in Mapleton Park. Two other longer multi-use trails for running are the 9 km Northwest Trail (accessible from Centennial Park) and the 5.6 km Humphrey Brook Trail.
Note: Moncton winters are very cold and snowy, with 282cm of snow annually. Some trails are maintained in winter.
