Oshawa is a city located on the Lake Ontario, about 60 km east of Toronto. It’s considered the eastern anchor of the Greater Toronto Area/Golden Horseshoe. There’s some very nice running in Oshawa, with 27 km of multi-use paths taking advantage of the setting on Lake Ontario, and numerous lovely pakrks.
The signature run in Oshawa is the Waterfront Trail, which consists of ~15 km along Lake Ontario east to Whitby, with terrific lake views and several parks. Near downtown, there are three terrific multi-use trails for running. Our favorite is the Oshawa Creek Bike Path, which starts in the Botanical Gardens and heads south towards the Lake, passing through several parks and connecting to the Waterfront Trail. Also near downtown are the Harmony Creek Trail and the Michael Starr Trail. Just east of town, Darlington Provincial Park features 5-6 km of pleasant nature trails for running around a marsh ecosystem and along the lake.
