This is a guide to running in some of the key towns in southwestern Connecticut (Lower Fairfield County). The area is also referred to as the Gold Coast, the area about 50 miles northeast of New York City and home to many wealthy executives. This guide covers Norwalk, Darien, New Canaan, Greenwich, and Stamford. There are lovely parks, coastal routes, and tony residential neighborhoods for running. A few highlights:

Waterfront: Norwalk Riverwalk, East Stamford Shore, Greenwich Point Park
Parks & Gardens:  Waveny Park, Bruce Park, Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens
Trail Running: Babcock Preserve, Mianus River State Park
Residential Neighborhoods: Shippan Point (Stamford), Riverside & Old Greenwich (Greenwich)

Runner Notes: There are train stations in Norwalk, Stamford, & Greenwich. Also, there are wonderful, tree-shaded residential neighborhoods for running, though many streets lack sidewalks.
