This is one of the most scenic runs in the Metz area. Southwest of the city, there’s a series of ponds called the Étang des Veaux, with quiet paths and roads passing by and and between them. The main path is the Véloroute Charles le Téméraire, a paved cycle path. There are additional paths that come off the Véloroute. The landscape is a combination of woods and water views. One can do 6-7 km in this area.
We recommend parking at the Parc de Trois Haies, which is just across the Autoroute from the Étang des Veaux. Run for ~1.5 km on the fields and paths of the Forêt d’Epsilon, connect to the Étang using the Moselle Canal path. We’ve mapped a 10 km route that combines the two areas.
Add-Ons: More running on the Moselle Canal Path and the path along the Moselle River.
