This is a ‘runseeing’ tour of Murcia’s historic center, which includes the Gran Via and several small parks. Use our mapped route as a guideline to create your own adventure! The historic center is on the north bank of the Segura River, inside the N-340/MU-33 highways that form a belt around the city.

Start at the impressive Catedral de Murcia just north of the river. Use the mainly pedestrianized C. Trapería, which turns into the tree-shaded Gran Vía Alfonso X el Sabio, which also has a pedestrian path. It’s 1 km to the Fuente Plaza Circular (fountain roundabout). Key sites off the Gran Via include the Teatro Roma, several museums including the Palacio Almudí, and some small plazas.
