Meredith is one of the major resort towns of New Hampshire’s Lakes region. It sits on Meredith Bay at the western end of Lake Winnipesaukee and the eastern end of Lake Waukewan. We’ve put together a town route in Meredith featuring a waterfront trail and some other quieter roads by the water that are nice for running. We also recommend the trails at the Meredith Community Forest.
Meredith Loop. This is a 5-6 mile route that has three distinct sections. The highlight is the 0.85 miles along Meredith Bay, which includes the marina, Hesky Park, an outdoor Sculpture Trail, and nature trail. Double back, turning LEFT on Pleasant St. for an 0.5 mile section along this scenic road, with nice homes and some water views. Double back and take Winnipesaukee St. to Water St. RIGHT on Water St. for a nice, 1 mile section along Lake Waukewan. It’s a quiet road with some water views and nice homes. Retrace your steps on Water St. and take Main St. to Waukewan St. for an 0.8 mile section along Waukewan Beach. There’s a sidewalk and some nice water views.
- Shorter Option: Can eliminate the Water St. or Waukewan St. sections.
Meredith Community Forest. Located off Jenness Hill Rd., the community forest encompasses 186 acres including 3 trails totaling 4 miles. Mainly wooded, and the trails can be a bit rugged. TRAIL MAP
