Located 45 km southwest of Paris, Rambouillet is a charming suburb and a wonderfully green area. The best running opportunities are in the extensive Rambouillet Forest and the grounds of Château du Rambouillet and Gardens.
Rambouillet Forest: There are myriad options for a run in the expansive Rambouillet Forest. Most visitors end up in the section just north of downtown Rambouillet. We’ve mapped an 11.5 km out and back along Route de Rambouillet to Croix de Vilpert, as one good option for a run. ROUTE MAP See also this Walking Trail Information for additional route suggestions.
Château du Rambouillet and Gardens: The grounds of Château du Rambouillet make for a gorgeous run. There are tree-lined allées, English gardens, and four ‘islands’ divided by a moat. We’ve mapped a 5 km tour around the area perimeter. Many options to combine with the Rambouillet Forest to the north for a longer run. ROUTE MAP
