Van Stadens Wildflower Reserve

Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism

The Van Stadens Wildflower Reserve is a large conservation area 40 km west of Port Elizabeth. It’s a pleasant escape from the city where runners can explore a network of well-groomed gravel roads and trails, while learning about the local flora.

We’ve mapped a 5.5 km ‘perimeter’ loop of the gravel roads mainly north of the highway, which are nice for running. For trail running, the Nymph Trail, Fynbos Ramble, and Dam Walk to the south of the highway are the most easygoing paths, although there are also some more challenging paths as well. Trail map
