Port Elizabeth Waterfront

The boardwalk from Summerstrand to Kings Beach is the finest waterfront run in Port Elizabeth, totaling 4 km out and back along the beach. Runners can pick up the south end of the boardwalk just off Marine Drive in Summerstrand. It’s a fun wood path winding through the dunes for about 1 km until the intersection with Admiralty Way. From Pollock Beach, a twin paved and brick promenade continues north past Shark Rock Pier, Humewood Slipway, and Kids Park before ending at the Kings Beach Parking area. Some runners like to mix up this route by dropping down to the beach, but the sand can get pretty soft, making it challenging to hit your stride.
