The Parque da Rovia is a linear park path that runs through the center of the newer part of Braga. It’s the best off-road run in Braga that’s not hilly or a trail run. The paved path, also called the Ecovia do Rio Este, since it runs alongside this narrow river, runs for 4 km between the Parque Desportivo da Rodovia and the Parque Comunitário de Lomar. Bonus: most of the path is lit at night!
It’s a fairly green space in the middle of the city, and also a popular commuter route. There are nice views of the water a good part of the way. There are also water fountains and other facilities. At the 2.5 km mark, a nice detour is Parque da Ponte, which has some paths and a running track adjacent. It’s also a spot where the path to Monte do Picoto can be accessed.
Add-Ons: Parque da Ponte/Monte do Picoto path — see route. Also can connect to our Braga historic center route — use Av. Liberdad
