Salt Lake City

Bonneville Shoreline Trail (North)

The Bonneville Shoreline Trail (North) runs from City Creek/Canyon Trailhead to the Bonneville Shoreline Preserve. Located on the east edge of downtown, the Bonneville trail is known to be a well-maintained singletrack that follows the Ice Age Bonneville Lake Shoreline. While the running experience is challenging, with rocky high-desert trails that roller coaster to upwards of 5,000 feet in elevation, it’s also very scenic, with eye-popping views of the Wasatch Mountains and Salt Lake City skyline. It is also important to note that many people have said there are a couple of blind corners, so make sure to stay focused!

This is definitely more of a trail run, with some fairly serious elevation gain. Note that there are numerous trail running options in this area, and that the Bonneville Trail does branch off in different directions.

For more of a paved road option, follow City Creek Canyon Rd. after the first mile.
