Santa Barbara, CA

San Roque Neighborhood

.thesantabarbaragroup.com

This is a lovely run in one of Santa Barbara’s toniest residential neighborhoods, located just northwest of downtown. Anchored by the Museum of Natural History to the east and the San Roque Church to the west, this neighborhood of quiet, tree-shaded streets features gorgeous homes of Spanish Colonial, English Tudor, French Normandy, and American Colonial architecture. Our thanks to Sarah Wallock for this route!

To keep the directions simple, we’ve mapped a 4-mile route with minimal turns, but we also recommend exploring the neighborhood’s additional streets. Starting at the Museum of Natural History, run WEST on Puesto del Sol/Las Encinas, and after crossing Alamar Ave., continue on Calle Noguera. Just past the San Roque church, quick LEFT on Carizo Dr., and then an immediate RIGHT on Canon Dr. Loop around, and then head back east for 2 miles on Calle Fresno/Paseo del Descanso , on the north side of the church.
