This is a nice run in western Santander consisting of three parts that can be combined or run separately. Use our mapped route as a guideline. Start in Parque del Doctor Morales, a pleasant park with some nice paths for running. It’s ~1.2 km east-west, or a ~2.5 km loop. Run west through the park. The next section is the running track at the Ruth Beitia Sports Complex. It’s 0.8 km from Parque Morales, using Av. Vincente Trueba. Enjoy the track and then retrace your steps.
Mirador Peña. Google Street View
The final section is through Parque Finca de la Remonta/Parque Peña, which goes west for 2 km to the Iglesia de San Lorenzo, with a nice view from the Mirador de la Peña. Note: this part is very hilly and the trail is narrow with some tougher footing — more of a trail run.

One of those runs that has it all: gorgeous waterfront views, parks, historic & cultural sites, a clifftop palace, and runnable beaches. Up to 9.4 km one-way, but can be done in sections.
A park loop with a couple of options: 4.6 km loop includes paths around the reedy marshland of Parque Atlántico de Las Llamas and Parque Doctor Mesones, and an 8.9 km loop adds the spectacular clifftop Parque Mataleñas.
Scenic and fairly easy trail run on a clifftop trail. Great views of the Bay of Biscay, as you pass by the Panteón del Inglés clifftop shrine. 5 km out and back, or 7 km if the Cabo Mayor is included. Not too hilly and decent footing.
Santander is known for its beaches. Sand tends to be soft, but some beaches are runnable. Best central beach for running is Playa El Sardinero, which can be combined with Playa de la Magdalena. Playa de Somo is a good destination beach for running.
