Features:
One of the most scenic runs in Belgrade is the promenade along the Sava River. The path is most easily accessible from the historic center of Belgrade and the upscale Dorćol neighborhood. Along this 5 km path, there are great views of the river, Kalemegdan Park/Fortress, and the Zemun area across the way. South of Brankov Bridge is the ongoing Belgrade Waterfront (Beograd na Vodi) urban renewal project.
Accessing the path from central Belgrade can be tricky, as there are train tracks and the Kalemegdan sort of blocking your way. A good approach from downtown is to use Cara Urosa, and access the path near the Muškatirović sports complex. Run on the Strava Promenade for up to 5 km, enjoying the great views, and winding your way around the confluence of the Sava & Danube rivers. The official path ends just past the Gazela Bridge. Toward this southern end, there are great views of the Ada suspension Bridge.
Add-Ons: This route can be combined with Kalemegdan Park, our run along the Danube, or our Belgrade ‘runseeing’ tour. Best bridge for crossing is the Old Sava Bridge (Savski Most), which has stairs that lead down to the Danube path.
