White Cloud Trails

This gentle series of trails directly across the Sun Valley Lodge, skirting the White Clouds Golf Course, is a great way to get a sense of the Sun Valley area. The best bet is a four-miler that combines several trails, starting at Carol’s Trailhead. Take the Valley View Trail for 0.8 miles, and at the intersection with the Fox Connector, take a right on Sellgren’s Trail. At the ~2 mile mark, continue right onto Elk Trail (rather than staying on Sellgren’s). Follow back down to Sun Valley Rd., and pick up the paved Trail Creek Path directly across the street. Follow for 1 mile south back to the start.

There are numerous additional trails in the area: For a longer run, continue into the hills. Inside our loop is the 1.5 mile Sunrise Loop Trail, which can be added or used for a shorter run. Or, continue south on the Sun Valley Trail for another mile.
