The organizers of the Des Moines Turkey Trot describe the race as a “highlight reel of the city,” and with the streets closed for racing, this course is the perfect way to runsee Des Moines. There are 5k and 5 mile options, which start out in the Court District, head over the Des Moines River, and through the historic East Village before trekking up a hill with wide angle views of the city. Hats are included with registration for this chilly race.
